Teufel Soundbars

Teufel - The traditional German audio company

Teufel is probably one of the best-known and most respected speaker manufacturers in Germany. Especially in the field of high-end surround technologies, Teufel probably offers some of the best overall solutions for home theaters. Almost all products have powerful bass and an impressive sound profile, which can create a breathtaking atmosphere.

Especially booming subwoofers are often associated with the German manufacturer, but through the startup Raumfeld, which was integrated in 2008, they have also added a section with high-end soundbars to their range, that also impress with their high quality standards.

The Teufel Cinebar Ultima is a true all-rounder with an integrated, yet powerful subwoofer. Admittedly, you can’t really call the soundbar compact due to its great depth and height, but the extra volume and Teufel’s Dynamore Ultra technology ensure that the Cinebar Ultima can produce a rich, spacious sound that will captivate most. So it’s the perfect solution for those who don’t want to put a subwoofer in their living room, but still don’t want to miss out on powerful bass. Additional features such as Wi-Fi, an app, subwoofer and satellite speakers can be purchased in the various bundles to further enhance the Ultima.

  • Well balanced treble & mid-ranges
  • Reasonable bass

  • No Dolby Atmos/DTS:X

Teufel’s more compact solution for brilliant sound comes with a stylish design and the practical Raumfeld app with multi-room function. The app allows access to many streaming services, and the soundbar can also be controlled very easily with it. The integrated subwoofer cannot compete with an external subwoofer or the integrated subwoofer of the Cinebar Ultima, but it produces a pretty good bass for its size. But the bundle with subwoofer would definitely be worth it if you have room for it.

Thanks to Teufel’s Dynamore 3D technology, the soundbar seems quite large with the up- and side-firing speakers, and the virtual surround sound also works surprisingly well. However, the sound doesn’t really come from the back, of course. So the bundle with rear speakers really makes sense if you want to have a completely enveloping surround sound. The sound is even reflected from the ceiling through the up-firing speakers – even without Dolby Atmos.

  • Futuristic Design
  • Virtual Surround Sound
  • Well balanced treble and mid-ranges
  • Side-Firing Speaker
  • Narrow dimension
  • No center speaker
  • No network connection

The Cinebar Duett comes in a futuristic look and, as the name implies, forms a duet of a wide soundbar and a powerful subwoofer typical for Teufel. The soundbar itself has been equipped with 6 power amplifiers with a total of 10 speakers. Moreover, with its four side-firing speakers, The Soundbar looks even a lot wider than it already is. The virtual surround sound is really good thanks to Teufel’s Dynamore Ultra technology, and most soundbars from other manufacturers can’t keep in this regard. But if you really want enveloping surround sound, you should consider the bundle with rear speakers. Because you can only get real surround sound with satellite speakers – but you still have to do without Dolby Atmos with Teufel soundbars.

  • 150W T10 Subwoofer
  • Great sound & deep basses
  • Side-Firing Speaker
  • Virtual Surround Sound
  • WLAN Streaming
  • Chromecast & Multiroom
  • Very large dimension
  • No Dolby Atmos/DTS:X

Calling the Cinebar Pro a soundbar doesn’t really do it justice. The dimensions of the soundbar are quite large, so you can rather speak of a compressed, but still full-fledged hi-fi system with a powerful subwoofer. The sound profile is well balanced and can also be individually calibrated, so that the soundbar can be used for music, movies and dialogue-heavy content. In addition, the virtual surround sound is very convincing thanks to Dynamore Ultra and side-firing speakers, but can be upgraded significantly with rear speakers. However, as with other Teufel soundbars, Dolby Atmos material is not supported.

The sound system is also well positioned in terms of smart features with Wifi. It can also be conveniently operated and calibrated via the Google Home smartphone app, and streaming services are not neglected thanks to the integrated Chromecast feature – so they can be streamed directly from the smartphone to the soundbar.

Soundbar
  • Compact design with 80W (RMS)
  • Virtual surround sound
  • High connectivity
  • Side-Firing Speaker
  • No network connectivity
  • For smaller rooms
  • Overload at high volumes

The Cinebar One is Teufel’s most compact soundbar and should therefore be reviewed separately. Of course, there is no question that the ~14″ wide sound bar is not able to fill a huge living room with sound. Its strengths are primarily in creating an impressive and dynamic soundscape in the near field, which makes it a great option for gaming. The USB port with integrated sound card is also suitable for this, so the soundbar can be connected directly to the PC via this interface.

The virtual surround sound is quite convincing with the side-firing speakers and Dynamore Ultra and envelops the listener very pleasantly. However, the atmosphere evaporates quite quickly in large rooms, which is due to the soundbar’s small volume. Especially the bass seems a bit meager at a distance, which is why the bundle with a subwoofer really makes a noticeable difference.

Variant: Teufel Cinebar One+

Very compact soundbar with good sound profile and good bass - Perfect for gaming
  • 90W External T6 Subwoofer
  • Better atmosphere

Teufel Cinebar 11
Soundbar with compact design and subwoofer for smaller rooms

Soundbar + Subwoofer
  • 90W T6 Subwoofer (RMS)
  • Virtual Surround Sound
  • Clear treble-ranges
  • Good basses
  • Space-saving construction
  • Good connectivity
  • ~40W Soundbar (RMS)
  • Weak mid-ranges

The Cinebar 11 is a slim and versatile soundbar that comes with a strong down-firing subwoofer. The sound profile is quite balanced, but the soundbar should be used in smaller living rooms, as the good sound gets lost quite quickly in large rooms. Good connectivity is provided by HDMI 1.4a with ARC, Bluetooth, optical and analog input, so wireless use is also very easy.

The soundstage is surprisingly large despite the soundbar’s low volume, so the virtual surround sound really enriches the TV experience – which really cannot be taken for granted considering the Teufel soundbar’s affordable price.
