With a total of thirteen built-in speakers, the Sennheiser AMBEO is definitely one of the high-end products among soundbars. The speakers include both side-firing and up-firing speakers, which, in combination with the AMBEO 3D mode, provide an impressive surround sound that puts you right in the middle of the movie action. With a total power of 250 watts, it gets sufficiently loud and there is also a subwoofer built inside the soundbar. While other soundbars with integrated subwoofers struggle with low tones, the AMBEO manages to reproduce them solidly and create an immersive listening experience.

Obviously, you can expect a lot of features for the price of the Sennheiser AMBEO. Almost every audio format currently available on the market can be played back by the soundbar – including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Movies and shows can be streamed wirelessly via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or via the integrated Chromecast. The analog connection options are also impressive: In addition to an HDMI eARC connection, the Sennheiser AMBEO has three more HDMI inputs for players and consoles. There is also an AUX, an optical and a USB port as well as an Ethernet interface.

With a width of around 125 centimeters, the soundbar’s dimensions are not exactly small. Therefore, you should have a sufficiently large TV or an alternative location for the soundbar if you are thinking about buying it. It won’t fit between the feet of a 55-inch TV, for example. The height of 13 centimeters could also lead to visibility restrictions if the soundbar is supposed to be placed in front of the TV.
